Every
part of Anglesey is rich in history and heritage and boasts over
125 miles of stunning coastline. Anglesey has a variety of landscapes
and wildlife and benefits from 26 beaches varying from intimate
coves to long sandy beaches.
The
varied coastline makes it an ideal place for water sports throughout
the year, ranging from surfing, scuba diving, canoeing and wind
surfing. There are several horse riding and trekking centres to
chose from, or should you prefer wheels you can discover the delights
of Anglesey from a bicycle. Whether you consider yourself a serious
cyclist or just enjoy meandering along quiet country lanes, one
of Anglesey's many sign posted cycle routes can accommodate you.
Golfers are also well catered for with 8 clubs and courses in stunning
headland, parkland or countryside settings. Anglers are particularly
well catered for, with a range of game, coarse and sea fishing options.
For the more historically minded, there are several wonderful National
Trust properties to visit which also offer theme days that are fun,
interesting and educational for kids and adults alike.
Nearby
Snowdonia offers a wealth of attractions to compliment the beautiful
scenery around Mount Snowdon itself, or within 99 minutes you could
find yourself enjoying Dublin and Celtic Irish culture, having crossed
over to Dun Laoghaire on the state-of-the-art Stena HSS ferry from
the port of Holyhead.
Getting
to Anglesey couldn't be easier. The new A55 expressway puts Anglesey
within two hours drive of Manchester and the M6 and there are plans
to open a commercial airfield at RAF Valley, linking the Island
to the rest of the UK as well as internationally.
